Brands or models of your tires

Post by afsigma21 »

I am wanting to go to an LT rated Tire on my Safari. I have stock rims and no lift, nor do I plan to because I am a DD 2wd, no need for a lift.

I am having a hard time locating "LT" tires on tire rack etc.

I wanted 225 / 70 or 75

What are you guys using for LT brand tires?

i don't know of any lt tires in a 225 75or70r15. you might have to go with a 215 75r15 or a 235 75r15.

BF Goodrich Radial T/A's. 225/60/15's up front 255/60/15's out back. Soon switching the rear to 275/60/15's. Need to fill up the rear wheel well a little better. Great tire. Great ride long lasting. :guitar:

Can I fit 235/70's without any sort of lift? I know 225s will fit, but I am uneasy about 235's rubbing.

I put 235-75's on a 97 conversion van with no problems. I just put BFG Radial T/A's on my van. I like them a lot. \:D/

I have BFG Radial T/A 235/70R15 tires on Grumpy right now. I do get some rubbing on the bumper cover near full lock, not enough to do any damage or cause me not to recommend them.

I'm running goodyear viva 2 215/75/15 on my astro right now. I have some old prime 200's on my caprice that i wouldn't mind putting on there i just don't know if the tires will like the weight and since i am at factory height right now will it look dumb or ok? They are 255/50/16 in the back and 225/55/16 in front. I know it will mess with my speedo some but not that much i dont think

Read my signature - I have my LT tires listed - Hankook is the parent company to the Aurora Radials that I have - I have had great luck and been impressed with Hankook tires to date, I have them on my old 65 CJ6 - and had them on my old work truck, and most of the guys I knew that worked in construction had them on their work trucks.

I bought 5 Nokian WR G2 SUV tires this past January. Size is 215/70 16. 2005 Astro 2wd. We had snow in March, and nothing stopped the van. Love the tire, will never go back to Michelin Ltx Ms. About $180.00 a tire. First Post for a long time LURKER. Thanks

I am running a set of Michelin LTX 225/70 R15LT on my 99 2WD and they work great and handle my travel trailer well. I also have Airbags on the rear end and still have clearance. I also had a set of these on my 91 same size worked well. They are also rated for Mud and Snow and went well in the winter.

Thanks for sharing this link, very useful!
Anyway, for my tires I'm using the bridgestone or michelin. It conquers all those thick snow and deep mud.
