I pulled a fuse in my 98. Look in the owners manual for a description of the fuses in both fuse blocks.

well i did it guys. i figured out on 00 and up... there is the DRL relay located in a 2 relay box right about the obd2 port. you have to pull the 2 clips to get the relay box to fall down so u can work with it. remove the cover and the top relay is the one that u will be working with ( grey in picture)

bend over prong #87 and replace relay and put everything back together. the auto lamps will work if equipped. the DRL is now disabled.

have you tried the diode in the driver side B piller. I grabbed one from the wrecker and it resolved my no DRL issue of 3 yrs.. LOL

I was young too, I didn't like how they looked, I understood their intention. I turned them off on about 3 or 4 different vehicles I'd owned. as for admitting to you don't know why they are there and saying they are 'pointless and stupid' ? .... that's just funny :muhaha:

they have probably saved thousands of lives since they were a safety feature on vehicles. especially, around dusk or dawn when people forget to turn on their headlights. at those times of daylight, or lack of it, headlights or DRL's are more for OTHERS TO SEE YOU, as opposed for you to see the road. think about it.

I pulled the diode, looked at it, tapped on it with a wrench, and put it back in, thinking that would of fixed the issue. :D

And maybe its my age (all of 31 years) But I love DTL. Great safety feature. And to do extra work to get rid of something that works, doesn't hurt performance, and could save your ass from getting hurt or kill, doesn't make sense to me.

that's just it.. LOL.. I did the same thing, twice. when I was at the wrecker searching for something else I finally remembered to grab a diode. within minutes of getting home I had the DRL's back. being that you can't get them aftermarket, grab one or two and try them out.
