I only use regular oil in the engines. If changed regularly, the engine will last.

these engines are pretty tough so pretty well any oil will do (except the cheapest of cheap) as long as you change it regularly. I'm using Mobil1 in my van

Honestly I guess Dean summed up it ... just make sure to change it regularly. Treat it like blood for your ride. Keep her running well.
Speaking of which I need to change mine soon ^___^
I am running Royal Purple to see if I notice any difference. Been almost 1 year now.

I sent my oil for analyze and the Royal Purple holds up well I am supposedly able to go for 13000km before oil break down and then change. With the Penzoil Platinum ~12000km. I have changed nothing else on my ride but just oil. I am use octane 89.
It is smooth. Much smoother than non synthetic oil ... much. However from one synthetic to another I am not sure.
Basically it comes down to price now for me.
Penzoil use to be $6 a litre vs $9 Royal Purple (I get discount)... now before discount on Penzoil it is some were around $14!!! I get around $9. So I figured might as well go for the purple stuff.
I am running Royal Purple in my diffs and transfer case as well.
I was not able to AmsOil cheaply yet. This stuff is suppose to be even better than Royal Purple.

ive used amsoil since day one, i bought my van 3 years old with 28,000miles. i flushed it with the treatment amsoil sells and have used amsoil ever since. i change it every 7500miles and now have 190,000+ and it still runs like a champ and the oil still retains its viscosity.

I had always used Valvoline 10w30 Extended Life Synthetic Blend and never had any problems at all untill I used Castrol non synthetic 10w30 the last oil change. Now I have a leaky oil cooler line, leaking air filter adapter, and a slight leak in the oil pan below the timing chain cover. I will never switch from the Valvoline again

I have used Penzoil for as long as I can remember. The one thing I did change that I used for about as long is I no longer use Fram oil filters.I changed to WEX oil filters and saw a noticeable increase in oil pressure in all RPM ranges.
