Had the same problem. Replaced the blower motor and then the resister
Pack. It is located under the blower and has the harness coming out (I think )

Gm redesigned the resistor pack to make it " better". So some
Modification to where the pack screws in. 7mm or 5mm I think
A dremal or a hack saw blade cut in half with tape wrapped around
It works good. Template is in the kit.

Btw...... My van also directs hvac to the floor when accelerating.
Only on ac and when it's on 3. If we count all the way to the
Left 1.... Hasn't done it since the end of the summer.

I just replaced both my resister pack and blower motor and it didn't change my situation. It was working on high only, now nothing. I'm suspicious of the new resister pack, maybe a dud?

In another thread it mentioned a fusible link as well as a grounding lug, where are those?

any suggestions or test to try?

I would replace all of the rest of the vacuum lines while you are at it. If it's dependent on engine load, it's going to be a vacuum problem.

Edit: Edited to add quote.

it must be the switch… after a tap on the dash, everything works perfect.
