Now, that's intriguing...just like a 55, 56, and 57 Chevy. I wouldn't mind having the filler cap behind the driver's side tail light at all.
Rebel, here's another project for your van!

cool, yes, but our vans gas door is nowhere near our tailights, which is why if you want to shave it the drivers door jamb is the place to relocate it. plus i would rather have it there anyways. when you fill up you already have to open your door but you dont normally have to open your tailgate. for the blazer it makes sense as the gas door is back there, but i guess thats one more reason our vans are superior to all other vehicles!

i wouldn't want to leave any door open as i pump gas. maybe set it up with a door popper and trigger in cockpit (or even the cable release like the older vans had) to make the tail light swing away so you don't have to open the door to get to the filler neck. plus to get to the driver side tail light I'd need to open both of my barn doors.... that would suck in the winter let all my heat out

Is pretty cool. Could be done on our vans with of course a longer run of tubing but I'd want to figure a way to seal tail light if I was running a carb and vented filler cap just in case of spark while installing new bulb or whatever else may happen that would cause a spark in that confined area. Rob's right,,,GM did it and it was cool, wonder if they sealed the light area,,never paid any attention to that.
