been gathering parts for my swap found a awd sub frame for free. got a line on 6" lift springs from a full size chevy truck front and rear. will they be to tall or to stiff. After I swap rear springs to steel springs I was thinking adding 6" lift springs and 3" blocks for a total of 9" of lift. would this be to tall or to stiff. all comments welcome.

How big of a tire are you looking to run? 9" seems like a lot. I think I would rather move the front axle forward a bit and do some hacking on the fenders instead of going that high. But then again, how tall is the SPB as it is well proportioned....

I'm thinking 31" or 33" tires. Sorry I didn't put that in my original post.

9" lift and 33's is about what the SPB had. I don't think you'll get an answer on the lift springs. Nobody here has swapped them in that I am aware of. If they are too stiff, you can always remove a leaf to make them custom. Like Matt said, move the front wheels forward in the wheel well 2-3" so the firewall doesn't have to be modified so much. The positioning will be determined by the leafs.

Thanks for the reply. I read your thread and was thinking of moving the front axle forward 2-3" for clearance purposes. Still gathering parts was not a good year for me. Project will have to wait till next year when it warms up as it will have to be built outside won't fit in my garage. Was thinking of doing the rear first seams it would make the front a little easier. Also know where I can get a deal; on steel leafs and mounts for the rear.
