I don't think the newer vans have the check wire, but you can hook a fuel pressure gauge to the fuel line to see what it's doing.

How many miles are on it?
You should be able to hear the fuel pump when you turn it on.
Check the wires near the tank with an inline curcuit tester to see if you have power to the tank, if you do then it's my guess that the pump is hooped.
When you drop the tank make sure the connection to the tank is good before taking the pump out.
It could be a faulty connector but I doubt it.

well i got some help and crawled under the van unpluged the harness for the pump located at the front of the fuel tank. unplugged it and tested i have 12v going to the pump but the pump is not turnning on. then just to double check myself i put 12v from the bat right to the pump and it still did not turn on. i tested 2 wires in the harness. the solid thicker grey wire and the thinner grey/black tracer wire...the solid grey wire had 12v for about 3sec. once the key was turn on. so i say the pump is smoked .....would you all agree???

I recommend replacing it with a genuine AC Delco pump only (Delphi) anything else will just not last. Make sure that you change the filter on the frame rail also, blow through it if the fuel flow direction and see how blocked it is. This will give you an indication why your fuel pump failed.

And try not to run your tank down below 1/8 tank. The fuel cools the pump.
