Post by snapple »

I was thinking that I would like to have windshield wiper arms that are hinged. Did any later year strofaris have these type wipers,or has anybody swapped from another make?
Thanks in advance for any input!

I don't think so, but I wish they did. I've owned cars like this and it is a really nice feature to have.

I was just measuring the arms on my wifes '99 s10 Blazer. They look like they would work just fine! Plan on selling it this year too!

Problem is,they mount differently. Blazer is held on by a nut,the Astro arm has a clip you push. Guess I'll have to check out different arms at the JY.

Can the stock arms be modified? I wondered if a person could cut back some metal where they contact and allow them to come all the way up.

I used the arms from a mid 90 Suburban which I modified using the same wiper blade mounts like the Astro's.This way you can use the Astros washer jets and the hoses, works great and much easier for cleaning the windshield in the winter time, finding the wiper blade mounts was not easy-found them at a NAPA store. In the old days the came with the blades. Matt, I am considering just modding a stock arm also. Wouldn't seem like it would be to difficult.
Kamenz, Thanks for the tip. I just got a new set of blades, and they still do come with the different arm adapters. Of course, I tossed the ones I didn't need already! ](*,)
Thanks for the input guys!
