Project unfinished business 92 shorty

I got a 92 shorty Astro and have started the build. I used to have an 87 Safari about a decade or so ago when I was too young and poor to finish it the way I wanted. Now that I'm older and needed a car that my daughter could ride in, I got the 92. Bought it cheap from a lady who took exceptional care of it. I got real lucky. So this new project is a tribute to what my old van never became. It's my chance to finish some unfinished business.

First thing was to lower it. Belltech 2" spindles and 2.5" front springs up front along with a modified Belltech flip kit and a cnotch on the frame. Along with lowering it I added polygraphite control arm bushings, Moog tie rod ends, center link, ball joints, adjusters and idlers arms. A set of Belltech street performance shocks all the way around finish off the suspension.

Next it was time to remove the roof rack.

Now that she's low enough, gotta put some wheels on her.
So 20x8.5" front wheels and 20x10" rear wheels were bolted on wrapped in 245/35-20 and 275/30-20 tires.

Next it's time to do some shaving. Tails go first.

I absolutely love the pics of it dropped with the stock wheels. Ironically that is totally fresh...a whole different attitude. The new wheels look great, fill the wheel wells quite...well. Man your paint looks great..apologies I drooled a little.
Welcome to the site! We love pics. Keep 'em coming.

Rest of the kit goes on this weekend hopefully. Also have to start shaving the rear door and welding in the taillights. So much to do so little time.

so have you been collecting all these parts/rims etc for awhile waiting to find the right patient? ... or did you get the van and then track down all the parts?

thx guys. I was going back and forth between an astro or a caddy fleetwood. One day while ordering parts for a client, I got a wild hair up my butt and ordered the cnotch for the astro so I could stop going back and forth. Now since that was settled, it was time to find a van, and I got lucky with this little gem i found. The rest of the parts got stockpiled after that, while i drove around stock. Now that wifey and baby are gone i'm trying to get alot of the work done.

Got the stillen front bumper cover and air dam installed and fitting perfect. Gotta do the sides next, billet grille, and then finish shaving the rest of it and get it ready for the booth. Still lots to do.

Well I got the tag surround cut in and mounted in the rear bumper. I think it will look pretty good when finished. trying to decide if i should leave it chrome or paint it body color.
