Hi everybody...& thanks for a great site.

Post by giddug »

Just picked up a 95 Astro AWD, 3:73/G80 and looking forward to modding it. I've actually never even seen it in person yet (my friends and family picked it up and are hanging on to it for us till we get back from Bali). They assure me it's worth the 1900 bucks we paid for it though. Been over here a couple years since getting out of the Navy so I'm looking forward to some good ol American steel once again. Initial plans are some lift, 31's, custom sawzalling, 231 swap, etc...

Then hopefully some camperlike interior mods and a homegrown poptop (a.k.a. GTRV knockoff). We'll see about those last two. Just depends on how much I like it. Never owned a van before, but it's a Chevy and you guys seem to like yours, so that's good enough for me. Just wanted to say hi and thanks for all the hard work so many of you put into this site.

welcome to the site! We have great Admins here. The members make this baby hummmm. Work is not a word I've associated with the site. Seems to be a labor of love, or addiction, or something.
'89 Astro, 4.3L, TBI. Minor intake and exhaust mods. Rebuilt 700R4 trans (by me). Corvette servo, 0.5" boost valve, police grade 1-2 accumulator spring (shifts fast and solid). B&M stacked plate trans cooler. Bilstein shocks. Belltech sway bars front and back. New head unit, speakers and subwoofer. Needs paint and a new headliner.

name's Steve
I can't remember all I've forgotten about that....

Thanks for the warm welcome everybody. I'm looking forward to getting back and starting the lift and tires part. I'll try and post some before and after pictures then. I'd like get the 231 swap done around the same time, but that depends on what mood the counter guys at the junkyards are in. 8-[
