Swing out rear windows

Post by Cobra »

so this weekend i happened to see a van with swing out rear windows which wasn't a big surprise then i notice it had that 2000+ body cladding on it.
was it an option on certain years to get those windows or was this a custom job? i took a picture with my cell phone it sure looked OE when i checked it out (i wish the owner was around at the time so i could've talked to them)

you mean on the rear doors? or the back side windows that are normally stationary? if the back doors are barns i believe they offered the swing out ones until the end of production, not all of them are but it was an option. the rear side windows were allways stationary though and ive never seen them modified to open but thats not to say it hasnt been done its just not factory. and i believe they started offering the cladding in 97 allready maybe even 96. my 99 had it so at least 99 but i think it was earlier.

I was going to say that I did mine for $50 for seals latches and everything. Try the local junk yard the barn doors on the back never changed so any window from any year should work. If your lucky you can find some with the right colour latch on them.
