The GHETTOBAGO

Post by rubberdown »

So upon being welcomed, everybody said they love pics, so here's a few! Thanks for the kind words, look forward to bouncing ideas around & gaining & sharing knowledge with everyone.

GhettoBago logo is not on yet... waiting for the lift & tires before logo-ing her up! Ordering the 4" Overland today, 30" M/T's & powder coating the wheels black this month. Hopefully as budget allows a side awning is coming, light bar... and in my dreamworld I'll be doing some woodworking to the interior for cabinets & a murphy bed... it's a part time dog hauler, part time R/V & full time downhill bike & snowboarding TANK!

The logo (which i am a novice graphics guy if anybody wants anything done up!)

I sanded the chrome grill down to dullness & shot 2 coats of plastic primer, and three coats of plastic paint, so hopefully she'll stay purdy. Funny, as soon as i put it back on I started thinking I should have gone white! As far as the cargo box, it's a model that opens from both sides, but we scoot it to the passenger side so when you open the slider you can just step right on the ledge, works like a charm! And anybody that lives near an REI, check out their used gear sales, you can catch one of those boxes usually around $75.

Sould have some lifted pics coming in the next few weeks... COMPLETELY stoked!

I can do that! I can custom make almost any graphic anybody wants.. I have a friend who owns a sign shop, and i do graphic design, so just shoot your ideas over & I can create anything, I don't charge for graphics, just the material costs for printing the decals.

And on a side note... I just clicked PAY NOW for my overland 4" kit!! WOOOOOHOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!! \:D/ \:D/ \:D/ \:D/ \:D/ :rolleyes: :supz: :muhaha: :bounce: :guitar: =D> \:D/

Like the way you utilize your van. I have no clue what Ghettobago could possibly mean, but I certainly know what the 4" liftkit means. :supz:

GhettoBago = Winnebago on a budget! :D

By the way, I am completely inspired by your rig! Crazy part, there is a pic with your wife (?) sitting under the canopy in the hills... my girl has the same color jacket & looks about the same! I used your pic to sell my fiance on the lift kit! Look hun, that could be you!

1 6x6 tarp: $4
4 Velcro Screw Down Tarp Clips: $10 (kmart clearance, crazy cool find!)
2 Adjustable tentpoles: $18
4 Pack of reflective guy wires with figure 8 adjusters $10
4 Tent stakes: $3

Cost for having some protection against the northwest rains expected at the downhill race this 5 day weekend: PRICELESS! :muhaha:

As time allots I am going to order a custom 7' x 10' Ripstop tarp & upgrade to the Kelty adjustable poles, but for now she's golden!
