Since Green appears to need a new alternator.
What brands do you like?
Which ones would you avoid?

In the past, I always used Napa for parts that might leave me stranded if they broke. I don't have that much faith in them anymore.
I put an Autozone Duralast alternator in my Super Duty last fall and it worked out of the box and has been trouble-free so far.

OCA is a brand you can trust. I've used them for 30 years without a failure.

Took the thing off, had it tested. Still good. Reinstalled it.

So if it is good, then why did you post you need a new alternator? Battery not holding a charge? Or Charging system is bad? BTW ... how frequently will charging systems go bad?
I waited for 2 years for my alternator to die hah ha. And of course it did the night before I was to board a ferry for a 1200km trip. But it died while I was on freeway with about 200kms to drive Murphy's Law.
