Chevy & GMC Vans

I have been having problems holding any sort of large cup or drink in my van. This has been a problem since the begining, and i am pretty sure i am not the first to be noticing it. I was wondering if anyone has figured out a way to solve this problem without getting a whole new peice for the van or new cup holder?


I was thinking of some way to move out the center peice (where the cup holders are) about 4-6 inches just so that the radio will not be hanging over the cup holders.

Any thoughts?

Tell you what Billy,I just can't tell you how many times I have seen guys talk about needing cup holders or wanting to solve the same thing your talking about.Maybe building a center consul would be a good answer with cup holders in it.

Cup holders on the 85-95 vans is worthless for anything over 12oz. When I had my 94 I used one of the center consoles that sits on the floor, did a good job and never caused any problems.

thanks i was thinking about making a center console that goes all the way upp to the top of the dash not covering my mirrior controls or fog lamps and building it all the way to the end of the front captains chairs that has cup holders but also holds a double din head unit.

Sounds like a project. Can't wait to see how this turns out.
