This is the season I hate
This is the season I hate
Kind of funny. With me working at Lowes in outdoor power equipment I have a really hard time finding time to enjoy the summer months. As I get older I feel beach deprived. To the extent that I was going to the beach just two wks ago just to get these old feet on some sand.Yeah it was only 50 degrees.I admit it I'm wine'ing about it. It just started the snow season and I am sick of it already knowing I have to go threw 4 more months of the same thing. ](*,) ](*,) Oh man........well thanks for letting vent

You could become a "Snowbird". It's still in the high 70's here.

"Beach deprived"? Poor baby. I've had more than my share of warm winters. I WANT SNOW! I want to see it snow backside deep to a tall giraffe on stilts! I want to hear the roar of snowblowers and sleds year round. I can always get warm. It's getting cool that I find difficult.
Keep your beaches; I'll keep my snow.

Re: This is the season I hate
It's why we move slower in the south Mike, so we don't break a sweat.
You are definitely in the right place for snow. I have to wonder what would drive a man to want 12 foot deep snow drifts.
Everyone I've met down here from Montana got out of there as fast as they could.
Beautiful country up there though. It's on my list of states that I have not yet visited...but I think I'll do that one in the summer.
Gary, lot's of room down here in the south. Come on down. Maybe Smilie will give you a bloon ride.
oh, and we have a few miles of sand on the third coast as well.

Re: This is the season I hate
I can't complain about the snow too much where I live. We get it in Seattle and vicinity about every year for 2 days and every third year for a week. The knuckleheads in the area freak out and crash their cars. The only thing that gets accomplished is that the You Tube airwaves are filled with videos of cars going down the hills backwards, sideways and upside down. Quite entertaining.
I drive to my cabin on the river and snowshoe and x-country ski and inner tube with anyone who wants to go and throw logs on the fire and watch the river go by and read books and play "hide the salami" and watch the snow fall. It's peace on Earth! But.......I gotta make sure the ole' AWD is in good shape and ready to roll. [-o<
People say it rains too much in Seattle. To that, I say.........."we never have to shovel the rain". [-X If I want to see snow.....I'll drive to the mountains.
You guys in the NE get buttloads of the white stuff......and it's all quite beautiful. I hope that someday I can have enough $$$$$$ to have a place in a sunny spot that I can go to when I've had enough of the dark and gray of winter?

We got a few inches of snow in Chicago this weekend. My snowboarding gear is now in the back of Green and ready to go. I'll be stopping by the local sledding hills starting tonight.

Re: This is the season I hate
Wow, Sanj, what a classic.
Gary, they have Lowes Depots and flea markets down in Florida and Texas, too, ya know. You'd think with the seasonal influx of Snowbirds to the south, they'd like employee snowbirds to migrate about the same time. Maybe bring that up in a formal letter to both regional managers (northeast and southeast). How awesome would that be.
My dream is to spend summers and falls in Bellingham, then take the van and bike and the girls through a "safe and peaceful" Mexico to Sayulita for the winters. Good thing I have a vivid imagination.
