Jeep Moab wheels

Post by StoneMill »

I have a set of 17" jeep JK Moab wheels and decent bfg mud terrains. They are stock wheels/tires that come on the rubicons. I believe they are almost 32"s.

Does anybody on here run JK wheels? What am I going to need to run this combo? I don't mind trimming (drastically if need be). I don't want to dump a lot of money into a lift just to run this setup since it isn't going to see a lot of off road action anyway. We have the jeeps and the deuce for that. If I can swap in leaves from something else I'm going to go that route.

Looks like they are 17x7.5 wheels.
Tires are 255/75/17 bfg mud terrains.

You'll probably need an adapter. I don't think any jeep wheels were 5x5.

There are "some" 5x5 jeep wheels, I forget what jeep, but I know theres some and the backspacing on them isn't really what fits our vans.

The new JK rims (07 and up) are 5x5. Backspacing is 6.25". Looking at spacers. Have spacers on both of our JKs. Needed them to clear the front sway bar with 35"s on the 2 door. If I go with 1.5" spacers I'll have 4.75" backspacing. Gotta see if spacers and a small lift will make these work.

A small lift won't be enough. You'll need a either a huge lift, or a lot of sheet metal cutting.

There is a guy on this or the other forum running those rims...I think he used 2" wheel spacers and at least the 3" body lift. Not sure what he did with the torsion bars....probably maxxed out tho

The norm on these vans is a 4" lift to run 31" tires. I'm going to try running 31s on Grumpy with a 2" lift, but I'm pretty are I'll be hacking into the sheet metal on the back side of the front wheel well.

Maybe if Grumpy wasn't already modified up front. The big AliArc bumper has lots of clearance. :supz:

Hey way cool bumper!!
Where did that come from?
I had a very similar unit made of T6 Aluminum on my CJ7.
It came all the way from Down Under and cost about 1600 bucks, 15 years ago! :yikes: :yikes: :yikes:

All I've been able to find is that it was made by Ali Arc in Canada. I got a killer deal on it from an Astro owner out in Sedona, AZ. Picked it up on my Route 66 road trip last Nov.
