Whoa, with some H-beams you could spray the wee outa this thing with some nitrous and not worry about it. That's a hell of a bottom end for a N/A 383.

I have some "I" beam Scat's picked out with 7/16 ARP bolts that I will be getting for it in acouple of weeks.They along with the Howards crank I just got and the Icon floaters should be a very nice set-up.

I forgot to say that Howards crank takes "H" bearings and I will purchase King bearings for it.It does need a adapter from a 1 pc rear main to the crank's two pc seal and I will have to get a two pc 168 tooth flexplate.

That's some outlay but not a HUGE deal. IMO small price to pay (very small) for a roller valve train compared to a set of retro lifters. That crank is sexy lookin

Howards doesn't build a 3.75 stroke 5.7 rod for a 350 main any longer.So I got a very good deal on it.I also got to get a H/balancer for it.

That should be easy, you're gonna need some 400 parts probably unless it's an internal balance crank.

Had to hang around the house today to get back the block all done.Rings gaped,ready to put together.Buying the rods are next on the list.

Can't wait to see that, those scat rods you're going to buy are actually a very good deal for the price IMO. Or did you decide to change it up? I think the reduction in weight going with the I-beams will be a good thing (Mallory ain't cheap) and you'd never really see the need for H-beams since you're not planning on any sort of forced induction or nitrous use.

I am going with the rods I planed for.When I laid out the outline for this build,I had done the research and pretty much stuck to it.The main thing being buying tons more than I will ever use.It will be acouple of wks before I get the rods.My wallet is just a tad too hot to touch right now.
