I’ve been lurking for years and have gotten lots of invaluable info off the site.
Here’s I what I’ve done to set up my van for camping.
The bed frame perfectly holds three Rubbermaid tubs with the bed extension underneath. The other side holds folding chairs, folding table, awning, tools, etc. I can put a 30 cal ammo can on each side between bed and van wall aft of the wheel wells.
It takes me less then 10 minutes to set the bed up once I get parked.
There is still a little room to move in the space between the beds and the seats. I’d love to make the passenger seat swivel. Maybe next summer….
The Kelty Car Tarp attaches to a roof rack I have attached to the factory rails.
This is my second Safari but first AWD. It is amazing in the snow here in CO.
This is my daily commuter.

We just came up with an easy low budget solution... Total price under $400 w/ cover.

Bought a full size fouton. It measures 54 x 75 and I fit at 5'10".

Looks like this:

Got a frame that looks like this and also measures 54 x 75

Should perfectly fit between the wheel wells but if not I'll just trim some of the slats to make it fit. It will easily go from guest room to van in about 5 min. Frame comes apart and is not that heavy.

Will be test fitting it this weekend I hope. It will either sit on the floor of the van or I might make a system to raise it up using milk crates by putting 3 across under each section of the frame.
Have Astro will travel.

This is how I did it. Stripped down a full size conversion van bed (Which I got free) and my buddy built a wood support system, and we added seat belts. Not the most secure for carrying passengers, but it will do in a pinch.
