1986 Ford Econoline rearend. Comes with 31 spline axles. Redrill axles for 5x5 pattern. Redrill brake drums. Move shock mounts to chevy position. Offset drill housing spring pad 1/4" on each side. Use van's e-brake cables unmodifed. Do not change spring pad angle. it is perfect. Now you all know how to put a Ford 9" rearend in your van to replace that weak diff. "Built Chevy tough with Ford stuff!"

I do! The one that hurts me the most is all the old F-100s running around with small block Chevys. I mean come on, use a Ford 302 or 351! A classic truck like that deserves better!

Ya...good info on the rearend swap. Thanks. I built a custom 12 bolt for my Safari. Huge $$$$$$$$$$$$. Upside...it works and it will hold up under the 305.
