This is in my S-10 this forum seems to have more knowledge then the S-10 forum:
Ok so my S-10 starts fine when it has not been running but whenever I drive long enough to reach operating temps
then I shut it off it turns very slow then starts up. I have done the following: new battery, & cables,
replaced starter, & reset timing after tune up. I have noticed that if I tap the gas pedal while turning engine it starts much faster. Would this be a fuel pump failing?

Re: 4.3 with standard trans starts hard after its been runni
in my experience, the slow turn over indicates a dying starter. I know you said you replaced it, but everything i have had that symptom on a car it was the starter.
I have a ban hammer and I ain't fraid to use it!
