So who will be the first?

Post by doyoulikeithere »

I saw something absolutly crazy on the boob toob the other day and wondered if any astro owner is crazy enough to attempt a similar engine swap.
Actually the boob on the tube had a dodge caravan, and it wasnt so much an engine swap because he kept the original fwd engine able to run, BUT...
He installed a turboshaft jet engine from a helicopter in the cargo area and opened up the back doors!! Talk about a "Sleeper" Can you say Afterburners!!
LOL, I roflmao at it, but it was cool in a twisted sort of a way.

Some people have too much time on their hands. And money. Those turbines, if you can find them in military surplus, run in the neighborhood of $50,000. And that doesn't include all of the mods required to make them work in this application. It's still pretty neat. I'd like to see some quarter mile runs.
