No. Still got to get this pain n the ... Muffler installed. Which even though it's dark I'm feeling like I should go do real quick... Hmmm. Plus it's like only 30 ish degrees outside (no garage). :(

ok so I just completed the muffler and it is much quite' then before. however I still have the stupid dog house of so its still a bit loud. but the noise is there.
best way I think to describe it is.... a electric RC car going then letting go of the throttle and the "wind down" noise you hear....
I hope that makes some sort of sense... sorry if not I will try to think of a different way to explain it but I guess I play to much with my slash 4x4 rc car...

hard to tell if it is happening durning acceleration but i can for sure hear it when i left off the gas and let it coast down to slower speeds. guess I never thought about driving it and putting it in neutral and let it coast down. probably the same i would assume.
guess maybe the thing I should ask / check is the wheel bearing... how does one check to see if that is "bad"??

Stick your ear out the window while driving. Jack it up and turn the wheel by hand. Check for play.

I said it earlier and still stand by my diagnosis...the pinion bearing(s) are shot.

Net done those before. Are they hard??? And do you tell if those are bad...?

I think a thorough inspection by a qualified shop is needed.
There are too many variables to troubleshoot this properly over the net.

Amen to that.
A guy that a go shooting with all the time, his cousin, which I know pretty well. Is an ASE certified master mechanic. I think it's time to give him a call and bring it to his shop

think I'll throw the axel seal, bearings both wheel and axel and see what happens.
I found out something interesting that may or may not help me......
If I drive 10mph or less roughly, the noise is not there. if I no matter what gear I am in am going say.... 30-40mph and let off the gas to coast and slow down the noise is there. If I accelerate, not there. So not sure where that brings me, but I think for the roughly $100 to replace all of that instead of the hundreds its going to cost me otherwise. I'll give it a shot this week/weekend....

Lifted is most likely correct, but I never blindly replace parts on a hunch. I always isolate the problem first because I'm not in a position to throw away money, and sometimes the result is unexpected. I keep saying it, but you just gotta follow your ear. If you trust your mechanic, then you can just leave it in his capable hands, but if not, then it pays to spend the effort.

I whole heartily agree on the proper diagnosis first...
But, We also have to realize when something is over the ability of net troubleshooting.
And, Perhaps over the OPs level as well.

So come to find out. My friend was having very similar noise and or issues on his Tahoe and basically safe side kind of a thing got a "rearend kit" as I like to call it. Pinion bearing axel seals racers etc for his. So I thought well let's add some wheel bearings to the mix since we'll be right there ripping all that apart.
We short update is that it's 3:55 am , we were getting way to cold at about 11 so we finally ate and are going to finish putting everything back together tomorrow, well I guess technically later today
But looks like a bad wheel bearing for sure on passenger side and also a bad pinion seal as well.
Will keep the post updated tomorrow afternoon when we get done.
