I found a 4.3 V6 from a pick up truck with 130,000 miles for 200 bucks- runs great - is it worth 200 bucks? I wish to rebuild it for my S-10 This is a true vortec.

Yes....it's worth the $200. Use it as is. 130K is only it's half life.

My S-10 is a 1993 I know I would have to buy a aluminum 4 barrel carb intake and use an adapter for TBI & swap the oil pan and pump (S-10 is 4x4) But otherwise it should be the same.

If it was mine,I would swap everything over the 1998 EFI.If it is the same as my 1999,it's a CFI/SFI which is huge over a carb.

I would rather use the TBI since I know how to rebuild and modify them. My Safari is a vortec with TBI 350 and I rebuilt and modified the TBI it runs great. I still need to make an air intake system to match with the hood scoop, But thats another day.

You know,I have a great deal of time on research of EFI systems for my 383.One point I want to make is the SFI's are used by the top aftermarket manufactures like Edelbrock. The main reason why is a better fuel curve control. It is more exact. It is one of the reasons why you see performance and gas mileage. :-k
