Got it licenced, titled, & insured today and most of the interier back in. It's now at the installers to get a new windscreen tomorrow. I'm going to miss driving it around with no W/S as that felt like the BSA without having to balance.

I made an appointment to get a spray in bed liner 16 Aug 12 so I need to finish the Caddy taillight surrounds and the area where the bed front matches up to the dutch door top with all the seals etc. When I get that area done I can finish up making the interior pieces at my leisure.

That little rig is looking great, not too shabby for "not a body guy". You realize of course that if all first timers cold pull that off there would be no need for tradesmen of any sort???

I see waves in the reflection in the picture taken from the drivers rear quarter, is that a result of welding such a large panel and can it be hidden with bodywork? If not I'll bet a paint job matcing the cargo would do it nicely.
Do you have plans for a tailgate and rear bumper? I think just a roll pan (if that is the term) with molded hooks for bike ramps would look good. I say two for the versatility of hauling quads or a tractor but you never know what ends up un the back of a pickup...

No joke Stan, you've outdone yourself with this one.

Thank you and thank you again. The "ripples" weren't there when I got done welding and I was patting myself on the back too early. I had the right side all jacked up right under the B piller when I welded that side because with no roof it wanted to sink in the middle and I wanted it where it was supposed to be before I put in all the bracing etc. What I should have done, I think, was let it down BEFORE I welded up the left side but I guess I created twisting stresses the way I did it. A friend in the body shop business told me to drive the heck out of it for a week or so untill it settles down and then "we" should be able to take the waves out. I hope he's right. I think I can make a Silverado tail gate work but I haven't made up my miniature mind yet about the rear bumper or a roll pan.

I got the two '95 Caddy tail light surrounds made today and the right side welded in. Left side postponed due to rain. I also made a bracket to weld to the dutch door opening assy so I can manually open it from inside. I just need now to weld a short arm to a 1/4 drive 3/8" socket and install it with a 1/4X20 screw. Then reinstall the window pull down strap and we're golden.
