Drop the Headliner

I need to drop the headliner in my 2004 Astro Passenger so I can drill some holes to mount some homemade rack bosses.
I don't have the overhead console and I just want to get the headliner down and up without breaking anything. Just dropping the outer 1 foot on each side would suffice.
If you have successfully dropped and replaced the headliner, please tell me how to do it.
