timing marks

1990 shorty....2 timing marks on the balancer. both look exactly the same. which one and what is the other one for?
as it turns clockwise, ignore the first line, use the second line. IT is TDC.
I don't know what the first line is foe except for constantly making people wonder about exactly this....
BTW, remember to uplug at the distributer, the one connection that almost looks like an inline fuse.
Then set your timing to zero with a timing light.
