I just read an article about a modification to the stock intake on a TBI engine. Basically the writer of the article (magazine)
claimed he cut out a 3/4 by 1/2 inch deep slot into the top of the intake manifold in between the two holes. He also claimed it gave him approximately 12 hp and better mileage. His theory was that when one side of the engine was firing one side the opposite side of the TBI was not being used so if he cut the slot into the intake it would allow more air through to the side firing. After reading this I remembered the Edelbrock TBI intakes have the same type of slot cut into it. Anyone actually try this?

Re: TBI mods
A lot of the TBI spacer plates have that config as well.
Pretty sure the one I have installed does.
