The Kindness of Strangers

As many of us already know, I have been unemployed since late April 2012. Funds are few and far between; fortunately, I get $200/mo in food stamps to survive. I now live in a transitional home for homeless veterans.
Anyway, I had to return to the Wound Care Clinic today. The ulcer on my foot isn't healing, so it needed special attention. After the session, I went to Valet parking to retrieve Klementine. The attendant disappeared for about 25 minutes and then returned, empty handed. Klementine had run out of gas. I had put my last $6 into the tank day before yesterday and husbanded the precious fluid carefully. But $6 doesn't buy much these days. Because my life has been in a free fall mode since April, This incident put me near meltdown.
An individual approached me and informed me that the hospital was going to fill my gas tank for me.
He does move in strange and mysterious ways.
