Tyre pressure for Bridgestone Dueler 225/70/R15

Hi!

I have a 1995 Astro and original tyres were 175's but my son has replaced with Bridgestone 225/70/R15 tyres all round. The tyre pressure spec for the old tyres as stated on door was 35psi but with only this pressure in the tyres look really underinflated. Have tried Bridgestone for info but without success and cannot find anything on internet. Can anyone help.

Thanks

If you look at the sidewall of any tire,
there will be a "Maximum cold inflation pressure xx PSI" molded right into the tire.
(xx being the number any tire lists)

Fill your cold tires up to the rated max PSI listed on the tire. Some tires do look quite soft, I know.... But dont overfill your tires or you could damage them.

Also, Ive never heard of 175's as a stock size (seems way to small). I could be wrong, but, I thought minimum stock size was 205-75-15.

There should also be a sticker on the door of every vehicle stating the recommended tire pressure, for every axle, at the specified load.

I don't normally run at max pressure unless the vehicle is fully loaded all the time. The ride is usually too rough. Try different pressures until you are happy with handling and ride. Start at 35 psi and go up from there if needed. Radial tires are supposed to have a slight bulge at the road.

Overinflating can cause the steel belts to seperate and bugger your tire.
Every tire has it OWN max PSI (the van MFG has no control over this)
So the door sticker was only good for the particular tires that came with the van.

Thanks everyone, I'll try the 35psi again and work from there. I've been over the tyres but cannot find anything which looks like it could be a psi maximum impregnated on the walls of both sides.

Have received reply from Bridgestone, they recommend 36psi front 38psi rear, hope this helps anyone else buying same tyres.
