U-Bolt Torsion Bar Tool

Post by Great A'Tuin »

When I rebuilt the front end on the Van, I used this tool I made for $30...
I soaked the hell out the Torsion bar/Key but it was still a bear to get out. Even with a bit of torch heat and a 3 lb hammer!
The other side just slid right out. It must be Cat right above it...

Now the rattle from the right and the pull to the left are gone. Now to set up an appt. w/ the alignment shop.

That little system looks great. My right side torsion key was a pain in the a**. I ended up with 5 broken c clamps... And one hell of a schetch balls contraption including Jacks and sockets and gloves and safety glasses to get my re indexed keys put into place :yikes:
