It's not always easy Gary!

I had an old Air Force friend that I stumbled upon when setting up an account for my daughter using my old AOL e-mail address. When I went to my Facebook page, (which is linked to my current e-mail), he could not be found in my searches.

Gabequest, you have an '04 with a 5.7 out of a '99 Suburban, right?

How did it go with the referee? Darren Cole (SoCali V8) said, "The engine swap law in KarliFornia is the motor must be the same year as the vehicle or newer, and retain all its smog equipment that must work, including the check engine light (because they will test this)."

Sounds like you got around it. I'm dying to do the same with a '99 LS1 motor. (Although I've read an LS takes a ton of fabrication/modification.)

Rvflysish:
Actually my current 04 has the stock 4.3. My prior 98 had the 5.7 out of a 99 suburban. I found out the hard way that the exhaust layout has to be the same as the donor vehicle. Aside from adding the second cat and O2 sensor, it needs to be routed nearly exactly like the donor. Mine had to loop under the drive shaft.
