PS: have you checked your rubbers??
When I did the DIY 2" body block lift, a couple of my rubber lower body mount cushions were a bit beat up. Has anyone priced the stock replacement rubbers and actually gone to all the trouble of putting in new ones??
Am I being too fussy here??

Dorman also makes replacements and can use Prothane 7-108 polyurethane body mounts to tighten things up a bit more.

I don't know, I would think so. Dorman 924-003:

The Prothane 7-108 is probably the most economical solution, unless your metal cups are rusted out. Your van will feel better with the urethane body bushings for sure.

Called NSOR ... NO PROTHANE IN STOCK
... but they do have Daystar stuff.
And there is no listing for either as Safari/ Astro.
What model Chev Pickup crosses over to the Astronaut vans??

It sure pays to shop around.
I got the Energy Suspension polyurethane body mount bushings from my local auto supply store. They had them in stock, and they sold the 6 bushings to me for $ 90.
LORDCO, one block away, wanted $ 180 for the exact same thing.
PS: genuine GMC parts [ cushions and retainers ] would have been about $ 300.
OUCH!!!

Re: PS: have you checked your rubbers??
I pulled out the old rubbers and replaced them with the Energy Suspension polyurethane bushings. Very glad I did this simple and relatively inexpensive upgrade. Half of the old rubber mounts were torn and collapsed. Attaching the unibody to the sub-frame with the stiffer and stronger poly bushings is like making a better foundation for whatever else I build on top. And since I am planning to build up a six foot high box at the back, anything I can do to minimise flex and sway is more better.

Re: PS: have you checked your rubbers??
I just carefully checked the rubber cushions that I had left over after replacing with Polyurethane on my 99 Safari. The Safari had 215 K kms on it and only two of the six cushions were in good enough condition that I would consider them reusable. The other four cushions were torn to the point that I would consider them USELESS as a connection between frame and sub-frame. If you want to minimise sway and firm up your ride, then replacing the VERY FFNNN EXPENSIVE OEM rubber cushions with the much cheaper, but much more solid polyurethane seems to me to be a great upgrade.

I WOULD NOT DO A 2"BODY LIFT WITHOUT THE POLY BUSHINGS.
Just my personal opinion ...
