I am from the old days also. Joined the old forum around 2001 or so. I am a member of both today.

Re: Water in oil, losing water, wheres it coming from? Need
Changed the oil filter today after 35 miles and it looked clean as can be, no visible signs of any water or sludge at all. Going to put 100-200 miles on it and change the oil. The oil looked a little red in color due to the tranny fluid being mixed in but really clean. I took the valve covers off wh...

The only reason I use 10/40 is because I live in Florida. I will be switching back to synthetic after a few changes.

Re: Water in oil, losing water, wheres it coming from? Need
Van is all back together with the upgraded gaskets. I took off the valve covers and put on new gaskets. I also cleaned the inside of them since it was all bad oil/water mixture. I put about 20 miles on it and will be doing another radiator pressure test to see if there are any other leaks. I am plan...

Re: Water in oil, losing water, wheres it coming from? Need
Is there anything I should do while I am at this tonight. I am changing the thermostat and belt while I am at it. I will also be replacing the cap and rotor since they show alot of wear. Is there anything that I should do with with EGR setup while I have it off the vehicle. Thanks for the input.

Re: What is the best Intake Gaskets that I can buy for a 199
These are the gaskets that I have on the van right now and had a problem with. The ones I just bought are the exact same and I do not want to use them. I will get the part number shortly. They are black plastic with the orange seal. I would have used the metal ones if I knew there were others out th...

Re: Water in oil, losing water, wheres it coming from? Need
Opened it up today and this is what I see. The cracked gasket is on the drivers side front. I do not want to use those plastic gaskets again if there is another option. Any Input? http://i45.photobucket.com/albums/f94/mattconrad/1998%20Safair%20Oil%20Problem/Van.jpg http://i45.photobucket.com/albums...

What is the best Intake Gaskets that I can buy for a 1998?
Does anyone know the part number for the best Intake Gaskets that I can buy for a 1998 Safari. Its actually a 2003 motor with the 1998 Intake but I dont think that makes a difference does it? Re: Water in oil, losing water, wheres it coming from? Need
Well, pulled the doghouse and checked for leaks. Looks like its leaking somewhere on the passenger side behind the alternator and running down the head/valve cover to the back of the block and on down. Also noticed there is BLACK RTV Sealant that I used 5 years ago, might be a problem. I was told to...

Re: Water in oil, losing water, wheres it coming from? Need
It looked like just water and ive been losing water somewhere so when its not freezing out im just putting water in the radiator. Ive had this van like this for 5 years and have never had a problem like this, I always do my own oil changes. Did a Radiator leakdown test today and it started at 14 psi...

Re: Water in oil, losing water, wheres it coming from? Need
I appreciate all the replies. If it is Intake Gaskets there will be noticable signs when I pull the intake correct?
