Well she went down the road today :-({|= Guy came yesterday afternoon and we took her out for a ride he handed me the cash when we got back and asked if he could leave her in the yard for "a few days" while he was getting the paperwork done. She was gone this afternoon when I got home. I a...

Re: What did you do to/with your van today?
Any plans to "improve" the Express? No, But if I come across a 2500 AWD... Hmmm The Express replaces my 2001 Econoline 150, I needed the heavier running gear and to get rid of the rust bucket Ford. I don't know what's up with Fords but they seem to attract rust like flies to... well you g...

Re: What did you do to/with your van today?
Too bad you are selling. Your 95 is pretty clean and has a nice stance to it. How is the under carriage? Looks like no rust. :-k How does it shift? Any issues going on with it right now? Pretty much rust free... just a little surface rust on the sub frame one drawback of having no oil leaks! Transm...

Re: What did you do to/with your van today?
Shampooed the interior and gave her a good clean up then listed her on Craigslist... http://southjersey.craigslist.org/cto/3656390981.html It's been a fun couple of years building a driving this van and I want to thank the site and members for all the info but it's time to move on. Keeping things in...

Re: What did you do to/with your van today?
Finally got around to doing the upper Ball Joint relocation today... First side took about an hour including running to the hardware store for Grade 10.9 bolts. Second side took about a half hour. No need to separate the ball joint from the spindle just air chiseled the two rivets off and drove the ...

Re: Ball Joint Relocation
Thanks Mark, I had to put this on a back burner for a few weeks because I needed to use the Astro as a work van as the 06 Express I bought had oil pressure issues which are fixed now so once I get caught up with work I can get back to getting the Astro ready to tow the sleds North once the snow come...

Re: Ball Joint Relocation
There are 4 bolts and they are still mounted through the control arms. 4??.Oh crap!!. :yikes: I left one out??. LOL. Yeah your right Dean.My point about grade 8 bolts and question about how the flat of the ball joint not being tightened against the top of the A-arm vs being drawn against the bottom...

Ball Joint Relocation
Sorry I tried a search for this but came up more confused...
To relocate the upper Ball Joints on a 95 AWD do I need any spacers? Looks like I can just unbolt them and relocate to the bottom of the arm.

Re: What did you do to/with your van today?
That's awesome 'Rider! Way to take charge of the situation. So it's not that big of a deal to replace the fuel pump/filter? I had that done a couple of years ago and it cost $$$. Not bad if you have a fairly rust free vehicle... the only thing that was really bad looking was the line conne...

I did a search and came up blank... I have a rumble (slight but annoying) at 50-55 MPH in my 95 AWD. I don't know if it was there before the lift or not. I lifted the van 3" last year with the normal 2" sub-frame spacers/1" torsion lift and S-10 rear springs. Since in actuality I only...

2012-11-19_12-28-31_563.jpg Wasn't exactly today but... As we were arriving at camp on Sunday at the end of a 350+ mile drive I slow down at the last turn to go up the hill to camp and feel a slight hesitation. As I slow again to turn in our drive I think I feel it again. We unload the van and late...

Re: What did you do to/with your van today?
Installed a new exhaust system... Extension pipe, muffler and tailpipe. She's nice and quiet now. Also changed the rear diff oil to Mobil 1 and replaced the entire diff cover plate since a new plate with gasket was only 10.95.
Also washed her!
Tomorrow we go to the cabin for a week.
