Hey,
Having done this, I may have some first hand experience that can help as you go through the process. Feel free to send me a PM and we can exchange numbers.

Re: Dutch doors grrrrrr ...
I don't have a button to look at so I can't help there... As a quick test, if you short the wires going into the button, does the door pop reliably?

Re: to chip or not to chip
First I would say that any off the shelf chip is not worth it. You can go to most of the Chevy TBI, or EFI forums and find people who will program chips for you. I have a rig to program chips, but have not done the research to get setup for 4.3 Astro's. I know there are several .bin files out there ...

Re: body mounted spare tire holder
Note: Do not rear-end Peter....
I will keep my spare nicely tucked up and out of the way hidden by my skirts. Does anyone know the largest spare that will mount in the stock location?

Re: anyone ever weld in a window?
Yea, I have a complete rear A/C & Heat setup sitting in my attic that I was going to install, but didn't need it. Not even a little, so there it sits. I am thinking of using it in my Tramper build later this year, hard to say... But you shouldn't have any problems with cooling if your system is ...

Re: Tramper Build data request
I'm torn between posting the pics now or submitting them for Van of the Month. I'd promised to do so months ago and I'm worried Keith may commit Hare Kare (according to Justice) if someone doesn't submit something. :dunce: :smurf: Judges, I think we need a ruling on this.... I mean, Tramper started...

Re: anyone ever weld in a window?
Well, I highly suggest going the no-window look. I have no windows save the three front windows, and love it. Stays much cooler in the heat, I don't even need rear A/C here in Houston. It also looks bad ass! Again, I have done some body work, and unless you are good at it and have a bunch of time, b...

Re: Tramper Build data request
Feed your vanity first, submit to the Van of the Month... Once I get my van cleaned up and running you won't stand a chance. \:D/ But do post up some pics soon. I will be in the garage working on a commission of pens. It's raining here in Houston, so no Astro work today. :-({|= Go write up your subm...

Hehe,
They truly have good taste, you can buy an Astro and a Lamborghini Gallardo at the same place!!.... Hmmm, I wonder how a v12 swap would go...... Reasons not to leave me alone in their garage....

Re: anyone ever weld in a window?
I have done a bit of body work, and thought about doing that on a set of rear doors for a different van. The more I thought about it, (time, material costs, and PITA) the more I realized I was better off buying a set of doors and swapping them. I would suggest the same for you. You can probably pick...

Re: Tramper Build data request
I'll post 'em up this weekend. There are so many to choose from, it'll take awhile to figure out which ones to post. I may have some pics of the traction bar build-up as well.
