standard trans to take 300+ HP?
I would like to find a standard trans to work with the engine I am currently building. According to my specs this engine will produce between 350 and 400 hp. I would like to know what 4 or 5 speed standard trans will handle this much hp. Also if anyone has a set of pedals to sell to install a standa...

rear axel questions
I have two rear ends one is from an 89 it has 3:42 gears the other is from a 92 and it has 3:23 gears. My questions are: are they interchangeable? and I also have a gov posi unit from a 93 - I know the 93 and the 92 are the same but can I use the 3:42 gears in the 92 with the posi unit?
New idea!
I was thinking since a lot of us here have winter to deal with it would be nice to have a topic open for what we wish to do for work on our vans next spring & summer. then we could come back and see what we wrote and compare it to what we have done. Just an idea as I have always done this with a...

need some advice here.
I bought a 4 x 8 flat bed trailer and I wish to build a box trailer out of it. Now I know how to build it out of wood but how do I seal it so I can keep my DJ equipment in it when not in use. Now remember I live in New Hampshire and we have snow and ice and rain and all that crappy weather. Oh and I...

Re: I screwed up but maybe its still possible
The problem is this: the only way I will see the owner/seller is if it does not rain on Sunday. If it rains the cruise in is canceled, Even if we do the cruise the seller may not even show up. So basically I want it and can afford it but I have to catch up with the seller somehow.

just an idea?
I was just curious about the idea of removing the rectangular head lights and replacing them with old style round head lights. just to change the looks of the front end even more then I have so far. I believe I can just modify the bezels and replace the metal basket that the head light sits in with ...

I screwed up but maybe its still possible
Yesterday (as with every sunday) I DJ'd a cruise night and this older man and I were talking and I told him about the project safari I am curently working on. He politely told me he had a 1987 astro cargo van with a 4 cylinder/5 speed he had sitting on his property and he would sell it for 300 bucks...

Re: Upgrading the subframe?
Not sure if this helps but I used to build 4x4's K5 blazers to be exact. because of this I had some 4x4 type parts lying around. So when I switched front frames from the 92 safari GT into a 89 cargo (safari) van I found a set of poly body bushings left over from a K5 project and to my surprise they ...

questions about engine stroker kits and such
Ok I have a 1996 350 4 bolt block from a 30 series chevy van. I would like to build this using the 400 crank kit. Now my questions: has anyone successfully built one of these and used TBI on it? and if so what do I need to know to do this and what company do you recommend for the kit? I live in New ...
