Fishin kayak
Picked up my new kayak a few days ago, Native Ultimate 12. Awesome fishin boat. Also first time I have had boats on new roof rack. Definately stiffer system. I will add some photos on water soon.

Re: Swapping out Rear Doors on my 1999 Astro Cargo Van
If you are going for the "A Team" look, you Nailed it. I don't think it looks bad at all. It would look better on a black van,but let it be the motivation to "Black Out" the van sooner. If you really cant stand it "Trim" the windows with black paint closer to the stock b...

radius arm idea
I have a suggestion for those researching a SAS. I have SAS'ed a few toyota's in my time and at one point I looked into ways of doin it to a 4runner that was my daily driver,so I really didn't want much lift. I searched and decided on radius arms, not just any radius arms,Land Rover radius arms. Thes...
Re: Roof Rack
More base gasket ideas! I was picking up my dog at the tile/granite shop my wife works at when I noticed a roll of heavy gauge rubber like material. Turns out its shower pan liner! Looks like a layer or two of that might be a good alternative to the camper foam.Stiffer and somewhat self sealing.I go...

Re: power locks not working
I think 97cargocrawler is on point on this one. I have a buddy that is a GM master mechanic and claims this is a common problem with astro/safaris. He also tells me the wiring goes through the driver door first then through the passenger,so a bad connection in the driver door will affect the passeng...

Re: When to Use Tow/ Haul and when not to
I decided to actually answer this question a little more acurately than the living fact bible! As it reads from the Chevy owners manual "The tow/haul mode is a feature that assists when pulling a heavy trailer. The purpose of the Tow/haul mode is: To reduce the frequency of shifts when pulling ...

Re: Ball Joint Relocation
I have some info on this topic! I have relocated my upper ball joints to the bottom of the upper A arm and put a lot of thought into it. In the stock position if all four bolts fail at once the ball joint is still captured by the A arm,it would be a scary but semi-controlled situation. Relocating ba...
Re: Roof Rack
The Rivnuts installed have a head or collar that is proud of the sheetmetal, most tracks have a plastic base gasket not foam. I decided to take foam tape out and I made a plastic base for the tracks. I had no luck at local hardware store, ended up using ski base material. Any thing as thick as the riv...
Re: Roof Rack
Only took overnight to decide to rob wifeys towers, fits good,a lot less deflection of roof when I pull on bars.
Re: Roof Rack
Here is how I did.
I am gonna need different Thule towers for the tracks,a pay check or two away, might steel wifeys.
