Block information
I recently stripped my 89 Astro and sent the hull to the crusher. I saved everything that was good , body was very rusty and had been wrecked numerous times , only once by me . So , as I pull the engine apart on the engine stand , I notice a few things that make me scratch my head . One , the piston...

Re: Mooneyes Japan retro Astro
I like almost everything about this van except the mirrors , never been a fan of those large chrome mirrors . I guess that visor is made for a fullsize van then modified to fit the Astro . Wonder how much work that would involve .... hmmmmm !

Re: Lowering A RWD '96 Safari
I haven't lowered any with steel springs , but I like the DJM flip kit over the Belltech kit , the rear shackles give you three options for the springs to bolt to , giving you adjustability . I have Belltech sway bars front spindles and rear with DJM's flipkit . No problems with other parts failing ...

S10 Blazer rear disc brakes to an Astro rear axle
Is it possible to swap all of the parts from the S10 axle housing over to the Astro axle housing , seeing as how they both use the 7.625 rears , I know the rotors will have to be redrilled to 5 x 5 bolt pattern , but will the rest swap over ? Got a sweet deal on a S10 Blazer rear axle with disc brak...

Re: Motor Change ..
I was hoping that the intakes would swap , as the '95 has the bolts in the same angle as the earlier years . Basically I want to swap in the long block , but use all the electronics from the '95 . Gonna give it a go and see how it goes !

Bolt pattern is 5 on 4.75 ... only way to mount them is to run adapters.

Re: subframe bushing replacement question
I contacted Energy Suspension directly and they do not make the subframe bushings for the Astro/Safari line up and didn't have a part that would cross reference to work......so factory replacements are your only option.

Re: 20x8.5's on an Astro? Will they fit?
I have 18 x 9's with 255-45-18's and have had no problems........I did call American Eagle ,the manufacturer of Boss Motorsports to see if they would fit.....so I would suggest you give them a call before you lay down the greens for the wheels....

I was wondering if Virginia would allow you to run the exhaust out the side.
