Remove Vapor Evap Canister
I need to remove the vapor canister so I can access the return power steering hose connection to the steering box. The nut on the hose that connects to the steering box is stripped. I removed one screw(which appeared to hold the bracket that holds the canister) and it still won't budge. There is app...

Re: Mycarfax.com
Point taken. My 88 astro comes up completely blank. It lists my estimated miles at 350,000, when it is much less).

Mycarfax.com
I am probably the last person to find out about this, but there is a new website called "Mycarfax.com". Its in beta, but works. Sign up for free and you can view maintenance schedules of other cars by their license plate or vin number(I'm tempted to tell my neighbor that its time for an oi...

Tie moth balls up in four or five socks and attach them around the motor, front end, where they come in. They will look for a new home.I had a squirrel eating acorns in my engine compartment. I tried the moth balls and the squirrel moved to my neighbors car. A temporary fix anyway.

Re: Anybody running Goodyear Viva 2s?
I have had these tires for 1yr with no problems. I put moderately low miles on my van. Price was good, and I got the lifetime balance which was $7.50 pr tire.

Re: Homebrew Con-Ferr Style Porthole Roof Rack Build
Most Excellent! It looks great. Congrats, a major accomplishment seeing it was made literally from scratch(I suspected the patio was going to be the hoist). Now, to wrap up loose ends. Good Job, I enjoyed watching.

Re: Possible Ground Issue?
Some years back, I had developed a number of freaky electrical problems(left blinker turning right blinker on, inside lights going out, and others). I finally reasoned that it must be in the steering column. None of it made sense. I looked for days trying to figure it out. I took it to a mechanic, w...

Its like steering a tank. But at least I had brakes. That had to be scary.

Re: Power Steering Hose
Not only does the pump still work, but it sounds better than ever!! Fresh fluid I'm guessing. One correction to a previous post. If your power steering hose is perilously close to the fan belt, then it probably is not routed properly. That's what happened in my case. The bolt came loose and the hose...

Likewise, ill fitting power steering hoses. Although, I've read about steering columns and they look tricky.

Re: Power Steering Hose
I'll check around, see if I can borrow one first. It appears that I only have to make a small bend. Thanks
