Pedal adjustments?

Post by bambo »

Howdy. 2014 Express 1500 5.3
Very annoyed that my little mazda 3 hatchback has more leg room than my van. Is there any way to adjust the pedals to be further away from me? I'm 6'2'' and I get tired after driving for a while because of the amount I have to lift my legs to reach the brake pedal. Yes my seat is all the way back. I did a bit of googling and I think the express does not have adjustable pedals but does someone have a workaround? Or how about a way to move the seats further back than stock? Thank you.

I moved the seat back in many vans about 2" as I am also tall.
I used four 1"x 1/4" bar stock cut to 3" lengths installed between the seat and pedestal. I drilled 2 holes in the bar stock, one tapped for short bolts the other a through hole for the stock bolts. 4 stock bolts up from the bar (through holes drilled) into captured nuts in the seat and 4 up from the pedestal into the holes into tapped holes in the 1/4" bar. (I used 1/4 x 28, don't remember the length)

I'll try to find pictures.

I know of at least one other person that changed the location of their Brake Pedal.

Seems as long as it does NOT interfere w/ Travel Dist., the pedal could be moved, cut, welded or rebolted, etc.
The one I saw had been cut, double bolted / locknutted (sp?) & repositioned for more room from the Gas Pedal.

The dude has Huge feet. I do too, 13W, but it never bothered me.

Yes bambo, very similar but between the seat and pedestal so it is not seen on the carpet.
