Hood struts

OK, I installed my #4451 Struts with Toyota #68961-23010 ball studs which come with "lock tight type" stuff already on them. I mounted mine in the same position as Smilie since he already had the pressure of the shock and mounting points for that shock strut figured out except I switched the strut end for end from his install. Drill and tap the hinge and install the strut and mark the end on the fender and drill a hole there and use a nut to tighten it down. Before you shut the hood, shorten the hinge studs as the Toyota ones stick out too close to the fenders. This seems to have the perfect amount of lift and I'm really pleased with the install. Stan, getting your chained pulled is a rite of passage on this site. Just wait until Peter gets on your case. Buy the way, why did you swap ends? I always put the seal end facing down to keep any trash from gathering around the seal. And it's the way I've always seen it done.
