Ok, I know this doesn't amount to a hill of beans but I have a hard time with this kind of stuff. Question is, where do you think the best location is for the LED's,,in the middle or down low ? I should have gotten FBI to lasor cut the openings for these but with the Cad. tails I didn't need these but since doing away with them I've got to cut for the light lens.
What your seeing is the red lens covered with the template that is supplied with light kit.
What do you think,,high, low middle ? It just dawned on me, I'm getting as bad as Peter when he was posting pics asking where to set up his exhaust tips.lol

Certainly in the center, and if this was me mounting these L E D strips, I would fit two on each side underneath each other.
The best thing to do, is mock them up and look at them from a million different angles, and mount them in a position that YOU are happy with, that pleases your eye.

Dammit, I sooooo hate to agree with Mr Puke Green. But he's right ](*,)
Two on each side at the least, and mock the thing up so's to decide. I always get the input from my buddies before making the final decision. They'll see/notice something that I will not have thought of.
In your case, just pretend to have friends who like you. Just imagine they're in the garage with you, having a few beers and shootin' the breeze. Then ask them (the imaginary people) their opinions.
If you've had a few beers as well, this will facilitate the above-ementioned excercise

Trying to pass off your daily experiences as advice may not be a good thing Peter. Especially when it does only apply to you. Oh and I now under stand you Peter. When your in the garage with your "friends" lemme guess you drink all the beers and then say your "friends" drank some of it.peter wrote:, just pretend to have friends who like you. Re: Rollpan LED's
Darren, the middle is what I first thought but then ya move it down and then you've got another decision and then another. Kind of like going to a clothing store to buy a shirt and they have thousands to look at and you wish they only had a selection of one.lol In the pic the center does look better.
Peter,,,you know me to well,,no friends, only recordings of past ones that I turn on from time to time while working in the shop. Friends wind up wanting to borrow your welder, lawnmower and then your wife so the recordings of past firends conversations is a good thing.
Using two on each side is out of the question,,we're taking short cuts now to finish this ride up and cutting two perfect openings on each side is to time consuming and difficult to get exactly right with no mistakes. Now I know you guys wouldn't have any trouble with these cuts but to look right there's no room for error.
Gary, the rollpan was made by Fender Bender Inc. and the LED's are theirs also but were cheaper through Tarheel out of South Carolina. The sheetmetal template in the pic above is sitting on top of the red lens and is used only to mark location for cut in pan or any other body panel you may want to install these lights. Like I mentioned, I should have gotten FBI to lasor cut these. Not looking forward to cutting 10.5 in. holes with an air saw and finishing with a die-grinder. Way to much time involved.
