Home from Peru!

Post by 9dawgs »

Hi Guys, my son Daniel and I just returned from a trip to Peru. I took 15 people down to help build a church in the desert for a poor area. Just thought I'd say "Hey!". Below are some pictures of our stay. I have a lot more but I thought these may interest the AS types on here :>)

Another shot of the Astro. This was across from the church where we stayed in Lima.

Here's me in front of an Inca cerimonial mound.

This is some Inca pottery we found at the base of the mound.

Here's me and Daniel taking a much needed break from the heat...

The church we worked on was built partially over an Inca site. There is pottery everywhere you walk just about and many handmade mud bricks from Inca buildings. This stuff is just laying around all over. The people who live in this area are descendants of the Inca that occupied it about 1400 years ago. I'll post more later. The trip was great!

You better go before to many more years. That part of the world is changing fast politically.
One of my dreams when I was much much younger was to take two or three weeks and drive as far south as I could. Still think about it but wouldn't take that risk with the way things are today in Mexico.
