I wish the little lizard could talk & sounded like Darren (who REALLY DOES sound EXACTLY like the Geico Gecko!)
These lizards are running like rats all over my yard here. They eat lots & lots of bugs. In Florida this is a very good thing!

We saw lots of lizards like that one down in Jamaica last summer. One of the night watchmen told us that he hated them. He said that they can (in his words) "...take the baby's breath away". I saw a few cats stalking them while we were there.

Do you have the little frogs that sound like car alarms? As soon as the sun sets down there it gets down right noisey from those little frogs beeping! They sure can make a racket for only being around an inch in size!

Yes Stewart, there's 'peepers' that sound like a woman screaming! And all sorts of other noise here at night. I haven't heard them much this year though. The lake behind the house is bone dry, so I think there's less of these creatures around.
Oh & I'm sure whatever the Jamaican guy told you is false. Lizards won't suck the life's breath out of a baby.

The first summer I was living down here, a Gopher Tortoise came right up to me. He was headed towards me & I grabbed my camera to take his pic. I stood perfectly still while he circled my foot. Then he went around behind me & away into the grass. It was so cool!

I love all the critters I see down here. Except for most of the nasty crawly bugs. The spiders are cool though.

Nice turtle! I have not seen any land turtles since I was a kid in Ontario.

Here are a few pics of some lizards when we were in Jamaica. These little critters were quick and could cling to just about anything!

As soon as the sun set these little frogs would start chirping...just like the chirp of a car alarm almost. There were so many of them chirping at once it was amazing how much noise they made for being so tiny. Walking through a garden in the evening was enchanting. I zoned in on this little frog from the chirping sound it was making and took a few shots.

Those are really great pix Stewart. You must have a good camera. The lizards look almost exactly the same as the lizards here in Florida.
I haven't any pix of the frogs here. I've heard them but haven't actually seen them very often. I'd love to take some pix of them. Hopefully we'll have a wet rainy season this year. :)
