Hey Y'all 'n's!
I wish I could remember the phrase I had in my quote on the old boards, makes me laugh just thinking about it. I know I posted it when I posted pics of mine and Peter's vans on the boards... I'll see if I can find it.
Yeah the old V-mag boards.... I remember cruising those boards for hours on end. There were only a few V8 Astro's on line back then - I think about 5 when I joined in. How time's have changed. I'll tell you, I still miss my van. It was one of the best highway cruisers that I have owned. At speeds upwards of 100mph, it was smooth as silk and handled great. ANd it got good gas mileage. My Silverado gets an astounding 13mpg. 350SS got about 25mpg on the hwy and 18-20 around town... depending on how I drove ;). Only problem it had when I sold it was I messed up the transmission when I rebuilt it (put a sprag roller clutch in backward) and never got around to fixing it. I'll tell ya, for the $460/month I'm paying on my Silverado, I could have had a custom pro built tranny done, new paintjob and all sorts of things done, but alas, the poor thing just wont pull a 5th wheel trailer.
Couldn't get on the old boards to see my old posts. Say's I don't have permission.[voice of Billy from Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy-my kids watch it all the time, what can I say? ]
Oh well, good seeing you all again. I'll stop by once in a while to check on things here.
Later,
Bill
If I didn't already have so many cars, I would get that van back and bring it back to it's glory. My freind who I sold it too is using it for basic transportation, so it is looking kind of sad...
