I live north of Indy on the White River, and we are OK up here The river is close to flood stage, but we are high enough to be safe.

South of Indy, there are 10 counties that have been declared disaster areas. The Coast Guard is in from up by Lake Michigan helping out even. The area south of Indy was hit with between 8 and 11 inches of rainfall in 12 hours. Just a few days prior, over 4 to 6 inches fell & was accompanied by F-3 tornadoes that tore up some towns. The east side of Indy was hit by a F2 & 2 apartment complexes were destroyed. There are a couple of towns of 6000+ residents that are under several feet of water. Dams & levies can only take so much... I-70 west from Indy is closed, I-65 going south is closed, SR9, 231, 31 & 67 (all main highways) are flooded also.

What a flippin' mess....

Nothing much happened here, but 40 miles east is a different story. My sister is without power since the storm last night and power isn't expected to be restored until tomorrow afternoon. She and my brother-in-law are out generator shopping. I imagine that the stores have been picked clean, though.
No damage to her house or those around her, just power knocked out.

I was in the Springfield / Taylorville Ill area this wknd and the corn fields looked like I emagine rice paddies look. Water was over the roads in several places. Back home in Janesville, Wi now and it's still raining but no flood issues that I've seen. The Rock River that flows thru here looks like a mud river from, I guess, all the run off.

Stan, I have family just up the road from you in the Big Bend/Mukwonago area. They are saying the Fox River is unbelievably high, and they have been in that area almost 60 years.

How about the flooding in Waukesha??? Wow!

At least with the LS1, the air intake is as high in the under hood area as possible and not clear down at the bottom like on a stocker. If I lived in the areas with a lot of flooding I'd sure unsnap the aircleaner part on my stocker that goes way down so it couldn't suck in water and hydraulic lock up the motor.

Down here in Southwest Missouri, we haven't had a break from this damn rain or severe weather since December 07, Whole neighberhoods and the town of Picher, OK destroyed. My buddies house just got missed by one of the tornadoes, by 2 blocks, but had grapefruit size hail. We actually had a clear day yesterday (Sunday) then we starded getting the sever warnings and constant flash flood warnings again, Been raining solid all day today. Oh well.

Start treading water, Jim. Either that, or lay in a stock of Gopherwood and start lining up the animals, 2x2.
