Even though I'm a gear head, I'm also an electrical/electronics guy. This thing satisfies both! Looks great and 0 to 60 in less than 4 seconds! Of course it's a little out of my price range.

Re: My kind of electric car!
I've followed the development of the Tesla and it is a pretty neat piece. Certainly not mainstream at that price, but any development and breakthroughs certainly can trickle down to more affordable vehicles by this company or others.
I like the idea of electric cars as a way to move away from imported oil, but I question the overall energy consumption/footprint benefit if everyone and their brother was plugging vehicles into the grid. Now if everyone was charging with solar panels, hydro or wind, that would be something!
For now, I guess I'll just keep feeding my 11.5 mpg truck with $4+ a gallon gas! (Hey, it's paid for and I can buy a lot of gas for what a new car payment will cost me.)

Somebody better hurry up,,we're in big trouble but you ain't seen nothing yet. The tree huggers better get a grip on losing a couple of snails here and there. If they can't,,you're going to see the fuel issues cause riots in the streets and gas stations burned to the ground in the near future I'm afraid. Hit 4.05.9 here yesterday.

Wish ours would go down that low! We haven't seen any riots or gas station burnings yet. We just keep driving our gas-guzzling trucks, vans and SUV's and bitch and moan about $4+ a gallon gas. Who are the dummies? We are of course...the oil companies are just supplying to our demand.
