new to awd sugestions on pm

hi i just got rid of my 92 cargo and got a 01 cargo awd. i never have owned a awd car before. this one sounds like it has a rear problem. but my question is there any thing you need to do to these vans to keep them working good, or anything that normally breaks. also what fluid does the transfer case use i figure i will change it just changed oil. thanks for any help john

The t-case uses GM's Auto-Trak 2 synthetic fluid. There is no substitute for it. Flush the case, add 2 liters, drive in figure 8's and then put a few hundred more miles on the van. Then flush it again and re-fill with 2 more fresh liters. This will ensure the clutches work correctly in the t-case.
