Bill, you have been holed up on your mountain top for a wee bit too long, I see.lockdoc wrote:Sweet! I'll be there!
You need to find a porcupine to shoot or something.

Re: Fast and furious AGAIN?
Fast and the furious is one of those movies, for me at least, that it doesn't matter how silly and rediculously fake it is, it doesn't matter that the acting sucks. All that matters is that it's fast paced with a lot of action, has cool cars and of course loud racing engines.
Now if anyone is in to motorcycles, you may have heard of a movie called "torque". That is the dumbest, cheesiest, most unrealistic movie every made about motorcycles (yes even worse than Biker boyz) and yet I like it for the sheer entertainment factor.

Ditto! And though I'm not exactly THAT much of a fan of Fast & Furious, I know now that I've got to see this one as well...potskie wrote:PHEWWWWWW I thought this was another thread about TW being put into the impound again due to someones very heavy foot.

Re: Fast and furious AGAIN?
that's EXACTLY what I thought when I saw the title and who posted it.. LOL [-Xpotskie wrote:PHEWWWWWW I thought this was another thread about TW being put into the impound again due to someones very heavy foot.
I didn't mind the first one.. simply because it was a 'car movie', which we've been long overdue on since mad max, bullet, two lane blacktop, crazy larry dirty mary, vanishing point.. etc etc I could go on and on....
I skipped 'japanese drifter' or whatever it was called... not my cuppa... the theme song on the commercials was enough to turn me RIGHT OFF!
two reasons I'll see this one.... my dreamcar, a GN (or a clone of one) in the trailer.... and #2 -- mmmmmm jordana brewster

Re: Fast and furious AGAIN?
Will probably see it some night while the Fiancee is away on a business trip. Enjoyed the original, but...I'd rather watch Transporter series with Jason Strathan. Its gotten just as fake, but still entertaining.
A must see, if you haven't is "Dust to Glory", documentary on the Baja 1000.
Alas, nothing compares to Steve McQueen's "committment to reality": groovey jazz as they take turns stalking eachother, then music off and nothing but muscle and pony car revs, and burning rubber. Our family tradition is every year at Thanksgiving, the chase scene goes in (with the Yamaha sound system cranked up) before watching football. Still gives me goosebumps.

Re: Fast and furious AGAIN?
Now THATS a car chase, love how that one starts out with the Charger droppin the hammer as its turning left, a true classic no whining drones from fart can tail-pipes in that one.
Besides,is there a better city anywhere on earth to have a car chase than San Fran?? I think not
