trying to move on

Post by 91AWDAstro »

Well today was the day that ended 11 years of my life. Those of you that knew I was going through a divorce, it's over. I can't stop thinking about how my kids are going to cope. I know they'll be allright, I will have a harder time with it than them.

I haven't visited the site much do to being engulfed with this situation. I see a few new faces, that's good. I did get the van out of it, all my tools, the other cars excpet for her car which is a lease anyway.

As my uncle told me at the time in so many words, "Although it can be painful at times, life goes on regardless. Either face your own situation and make the best of it, or sit in your shit. It's your choice."

I chose the facedown. It has sucked at times. A lot actually. But I always stayed true to myself and it has been paying off finally. It's good to hear from you again. Keep your chin up!

As you already know, there are several of us who have gone thru the same thing so we understand the problems associated with a separation/divorce, that chapter is over its time for the re-build  as Loc said "its good to hear from you again"

Glad to have you back with us and all does get better for sure. All I'll say is, the kids are number one, you and your X always come after them and never use them as pawns or leverage. If you two can do this, you'll be amazed how well they will do. Even though it's over, it's not and you two will have to back the other on the rules.
Good luck and hang with us.

My wife is divorced, I raised her 2 kids from first grade on, they are both 20+ and in college.

Your kids will struggle for a while, but in the end they will be OK! In fact, my stepchildren came out better for it, they know that you can get through tough times if you believe and never give up. That was a great life lesson for them.

I have a friend in your same boat right now, his divorce was final a few weeks ago.

As others said, keep your chin up and spend time with friends.

Go read the post about the beer and golf balls!

I can't add much that hasn't already been said. A lot of us have been through it. When I was a mere child an adult said something to me that has stuck with me all of my life. "Every time you loose your head you will loose your ass". Make all of your decisions with a calm cool resolve. Everything will work out in the end. I'm glad you're with us. If you need to talk just let us know. Were here for you.
